Frequently Asked Questions

Is Main Line Group Wealth Management a fiduciary?

Main Line Group Wealth Management, LLC is a Registered Investment Advisory firm, which means that we are held to a fiduciary standard. As an individual, Doug Kobak is Certified Financial Planner™, so he is also held to a fiduciary standard. Being a fiduciary means that we are required to place our client’s interests above our own, and we practice under that standard every day. This responsibility distinguishes us from brokerage houses, which are merely required to determine a level of suitability rather than uphold the best interests of their clients.

What services does Main Line Group provide to their clients?

We take a holistic approach to the comprehensive wealth planning services we offer. We start with a full examination of your financial goals and assets. We will coordinate and seek council with other professionals to help optimize your customized financial game plan. We construct, implement and track on an ongoing basis your customized comprehensive wealth plan that can cover:

  • Investments
  • Tax planning
  • Estate planning
  • Retirement Plans
  • Insurance needs
  • Philanthropic goals and
  • Much more

How will my wealth plan be specialized to fit my family’s/business’s needs?

As a client, you will meet with our Team Leader, Douglas Kobak, CFP® with over 25 years of advisory experience, where he will help craft a financial plan based on your unique situation. Your plan’s probability of success will be quantified and readily available to you so you can track and monitor your progress towards meeting your goals. During your Financial Plan Review we will make updates based on developments in your life so that your financial plan will evolve with you.

Do you provide legacy planning?

Yes, we have extensive experience assisting clients with their legacy planning. We help clients develop a Wealth Transfer Plan (WTP), which is incorporated within their comprehensive estate plan. See Legacy Planning on our What We Do page.

What services does Main Line Group Wealth Management provide to business owners?

Our approach with business owners transcends the close relationship between business and business owner to correctly assess and quantify assets and liabilities. In addition to our personal wealth management services we also provide an array of services specifically for business owners including succession planning, buy-sell agreement reviews, benefit planning, insurance reviews, asset management, etc.

Is there a minimum requirement?

Typically, we would prefer to have $2 million under management to start, but are willing to make exceptions in situations where there is room for growth.

What is Main Line Group Wealth Management’s Investment Advisory fee?

Our annual fee is lower than the 1.325% average annual advisory fee charged by the 4 largest brokerage firms.* Main Line Group Wealth Management’s annual investment advisory fee is negotiable, but is generally based upon a percentage (%) of the market value of the assets placed under management and is set forth in the following fee schedule:
