Meet Douglas Kobak, CFP®

My job is to learn about you, your family, your goals and objectives and then craft a customized financial game plan for you.  We manage your assets on an ongoing basis striving for the right balance between risk and opportunity that is appropriate for you while incorporating both changes in your life and the financial markets.

For over 25 years I have worked in the financial industry in multiple capacities.  I began my career at Lehman Brothers on their institutional and proprietary trading desks, where I gained extensive trading knowledge and experience.  I also went through their MBA program, spending time in the different areas of the Capital Markets.

After Lehman Brothers, I spent seventeen years at Citigroup as a SVP, Advisor within Citi Family Office, an elite department within Citigroup that focused on the firm’s top clients.  During this period, I successfully managed more than $200 million for my clients.

I was named as one of the top 25 wealth advisors in the Philadelphia Region by Barron’s and the Philadelphia Business Journal.  I’m a member of the Financial Planning Association’s Philadelphia region.  My family and I reside in the Main Line Area of suburban Philadelphia.  I am an active member of the community and involved with several local philanthropic organizations including coaching track & field for Special Olympics athletes. When I’m not at one of my three kid’s activities I enjoy playing tennis, golf and running.

Many Financial and Wealth Advisors are still living in the 1990s—they’re using investment techniques and strategies that made sense during the Clinton years, but have increasingly little relevance to today’s investment climate.

We don’t believe in investing and forgetting.  

Our methodology is founded on the principle that all investments are not created equal.  Our analysis starts by adhering to the most basic economic principle of supply and demand, ranking investments from strongest to weakest using very broad asset classes.  

Knowing the supply and demand relationship of multiple assets allows us to be proactive and to increase exposure to the assets that are strengthening, while reducing exposure in weakening assets.

We use a wide array of investment tools, including our own proprietary investment methods which can help to optimize returns in both strong as well as weak markets.

Over 20 Years of Planning Expertise

For more than two decades Doug has proudly been held to the Fiduciary Standard, meaning he must act solely in the best interests of his clients at all times.  This responsibility distinguishes him from most of the financial advisors working for the largest brokerage firms who are merely required to determine a level of suitability rather than uphold the best interests of their clients, but have no legal obligation to put your interest ahead of their personal or firms interests.

We are proud to offer our clients the advantages of a boutique firm’s personal service while providing an array of investment and wealth management services.

Mitigating risk is a cornerstone of our philosophy and a critical strategy to reduce investment risk, personal liability, and downside exposure from unforeseen events.

Our planning encompasses both sides of the balance sheet and is customized for each client’s needs.
